According to Met Éireann, scattered heavy showers and localise thundery downpours may result in spot flooding in parts, so extra caution is advised if you’re out on the roads at all. Slow down, keep well back from whoever’s driving in front, all the usual stuff.
Elsewhere in the country, you can expect a dull and misty start with rain in the north east and scattered showers in other parts. There may be a bit of sun peeping through during the afternoon and into the evening, but heavy showers will most likely prevail, particularly in Leinster and Ulster where the warnings are in place. Despite the rain and thunder, temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees are forecast, along with light southerly or westerly winds.
Side note, if you’re looking for something to cheer yourself up ahead of what looks to be a bleak weekend weather wise, you can head over to the Met Office Twitter where they’re looking for help with naming the next D storm. That’s one way to distract yourself from work for five minutes or so.
It's time to 'D'ecide…
Ahead of the launch of the new list of storm names, we need your help in picking the name for 'D'.
