As the worst storm in 50 years approaches our shores the emergency plan has fully started to kick into top gear around the country.
After a planning meeting this morning the government and their various agencies have started planning. The south and west of the country are in the most in danger with winds set to top 100km/h.

The National Emergency Coordination Group met this morning and, after liaising with Met Éireann, they’ve decided to close schools in all the counties that currently have a red weather warning. They are…

Busses
Bus Éireann will not operate School Transport Scheme services tomorrow in the counties of Waterford, Wexford and Limerick in line with its policy to stand these down in a Status Red weather alert. Met Éireann today extended the red weather alert to these three counties. Parents, schools and school bus contractors operating on behalf of Bus Éireann have already been advised that school transport services will not operate tomorrow in the counties of Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway and Mayo. Please see www.buseireann.ie/redalert for further details. This applies to all school transport services in these eight counties, including those for Special Needs students.
