Bus Éireann workers will go on an all-out strike from Monday, February 20.
This extreme form of industrial action is in response to comments made by the Bus Éireann chief, who said that 2,600 drivers may lose their jobs in an effort to improve the company’s critical financial situation.
The Bus Éireann Trade Union Group, which is comprised of five different unions, has decided to go an all-out strike with no end date.
However, the union group is still willing to resolve this problem before the strike can take effect. Here’s what a statement from the group said,
“It remains a matter for Bus Éireann to decide if it wants to run the risk of bringing travel chaos to bear on the communities it is obliged to serve, or enter meaningful talks with the Trade Union Group without preconditions”.
