Now look, we don’t want to get you all down over the festive season but the stark price difference between the cheapest and most expensive counties for renting a gaff is shocking.
The latest report by the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) shows that the average rent across Ireland for rental accommodation is now €1,056 per month, up from €965 this time last year.
The difference between the cheapest and most expensive county is almost triple the price
In the RTB report the average rent for every county in Ireland in Q3 of 2017 was revealed, and the five most expensive and least expensive counties in Ireland are at seriously different ends of the money spectrum.
Most expensive:
Dublin: €1,518
Kildare: €1,114
Galway: €1,083
Cork: €1,026
Least expensive:
Leitrim: €487
Longford: €534
Donegal: €545
Roscommon: €549
Cavan: €571
This is pure madness.
