A New Irish Company Have Made A Deadly Online Tool For Pride 2017 <3

This week is Pride, which celebrates all things LGBTQ. <3

Ireland is slowly becoming more and more progessive and welcoming, with the marriage referendum in 2014 making the Pride celebrations bigger and better every year.

But we’re not quite there yet. There is still judgement and hate out there, especially online, and Irish company Connector are aiming to fix this.

The company have created a free online tool called #LoveWins.

This tool is an extension that you can add to Google Chrome, and it monitors homophobic and hateful language online.

When it comes across a slur or a derogatory term, the tool then changes that to a positive word – the changed words appear in Pride colours, so the user knows that it has been altered.

The tool hopes to reduce the amount of harmful language online, allowing people to be free and safe to go online.

You can download the tool here.
