Google has revealed the top 10 search terms in Ireland for 2018 and as ever our interest in sport and entertainment is evident.
Despite the fact we failed to qualify for the World Cup in Russia, the summer soccer tournament came out on top in overall list as France clinched their second global crown. In second place was a much sadder issue as internet users flocked to search Swedish DJ Avicii following his death at the age of 28 in April.
Meghan Markle was the third most-searched term followed by former Ireland rugby player Paddy Jackson while Dolores O’Riordan, another tragic music star, was the fifth most-searched term.
The full top 10 is as follows:
1. World Cup
2. Avicii
3. Meghan Markle
4. Paddy Jackson
5. Dolores O’Riordan
6. Eurovision
7. Ireland vs New Zealand
8. A Star is Born
9. Cheltenham
10. Stan Lee
