Your Monday night movie viewing menu has arrived!
Welcome back to Monday. Considering it feels like last Monday was, conservatively, a month ago, you’d be forgiven for already being a little bit tired at the start of this week. Thankfully, the TV schedulers have given us plenty to enjoy tonight!
Zoolander – Comedy Central – 8.20pm
There is never a bad time to watch this comedy about the world of duelling male models who may or may not also be secretly hypnotised assassins. Say it all with us: “What is this? A CENTRE FOR ANTS?!?!”
The Lord of the Ring: The Return of the King – Sky One – 9pm
The movie with a longer runtime that 2020 itself, it is still a fitting and properly gigantic send-off to one of the greatest trilogies ever made.
99 Homes – TG4 – 9.30pm
Andrew Garfield plays a man who is behind on his rent and he and his mother are thrown out of their home by ruthless real-estate owner Michael Shannon. However, when he turns to him for a job, he soon becomes just as ruthless and heartless in throwing others out of their homes. A highly recommended hidden gem.
The Last Stand – FilmFour – 10pm
Arnie is the sheriff of a small town right on the border between the US and Mexico, and when he gets word that a dangerous cartel leader plans on escaping across the border through his town, he recruits some of the locals (including Jackass’ Johnny Knoxville) to stop him.
Inception – ITV4 – 10pm
Before Christopher Nolan got a little too big and loud for his own good, he delivered to us one of the very best action movies of the 21st century. Di Caprio, Hardy, Levitt, and loads more delve into layers of dreams in order to pull of an elaborate heist. Still brilliant 10 years later.
Nerve – FilmFour – 12.10am
Emma Roberts and Dave Franco star in this thriller about an app that dares people to do more and more dangerous stunts in exchange for money, but soon the dares get out of control, and two of the users find themselves fighting for their lives.
