These are the six best movies on TV tonight

Rory Cashin

Some very decent picks to enjoy on your cold and wet Tuesday night in.

The weather outside is not exactly inviting. But do you know what is inviting? Your couch, paired with one of these movies!

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer – FilmFour – 8.10pm

The much-improved sequel sees the heroic foursome take on the Silver Surfer, a near-indestructible harbinger of doom, a super-powered alien that paves the way for the planet consuming Galactus.

The Nice Guys – RTE Two – 9.30pm

Is this movie on sale or something this week? It seems to be on every night lately. Not that we’re complaining, because if you haven’t caught up on the Ryan Gosling & Russell Crowe comedy action detective story, then we recommend you do so tonight.

The Inbetweeners Movie – E4 – 10pm

The four best pals head off to Ibiza for sun, sea, sex and… well, we guess that’s it. If you like the show, you’ll like the movie. If you didn’t, then you won’t. Simple, really.

Casino Royale – ITV4 – 10pm

Daniel Craig’s first outing as James Bond pits him against a master card player, who is also using terrorist attacks to make money from the world’s stock market. Features some of the best, grittiest actions scenes in the entire 007 franchise.

Friends With Benefits – MTV – 11pm

Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake are two good friends who decide to have sex with each other, but keep emotions out of it entirely. But, as you might imagine, the emotions don’t stay away for too long…

Blade Runner 2049 – ITV4 – 12.55am

Another Ryan Gosling movie tonight, and its not even his birthday (that was last week). This long-awaited sequel to the iconic sci-fi mystery is, without a doubt, one of the very best looking movies ever made. Although be warned, at 164 minutes, it is also quite long.
