Sally Rooney has another Normal People-related book coming out next month

Sarah Finnan

It’s been over five months since Normal People first aired on TV screens across the world but the hype has only marginally died down since then. An overnight success, the series quickly garnered worldwide attention, shooting both Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones to international success in a very short space of time.

Based on a Sally Rooney novel of the same name, the book has proven to be just as popular as its onscreen adaptation and the Mayo-born author has delighted fans with the news that she’ll release another Normal People-related book next month.

Yes, that’s right – Normal People: The Scripts is on the way. A hardback copy containing the complete screenplays of the series, the resulting scripts are the fruits of a collaboration between Rooney and writers Alice Birch and Mark O’Rowe who worked together to adapt the novel for the big screen.

Also featuring an exclusive piece from director Lenny Abrahamson, the book will contain behind-the-scenes images of the cast and crew taken during filming last year.

Set for release next month, Normal People: The Scripts will be available to purchase from November 12. An excuse to re-watch the series if ever we heard one.
