I know I reference Friends too often (it’s a problem), but Maura Higgins on The Wheel is giving us serious Joey Tribbiani on Pyramid vibes. Paper! Snow! A ghost!!! That show is too damn applicable to everyday life.
But I digress… back to Maura Higgins on The Wheel. One of the guests on this week’s episode, she joined comedian and host Michael McIntyre on the new game show. Very similar to how Pyramid seemed to work on Friends, The Wheel pairs contestants up with celebrity ‘experts’ who attempt to help them win as much cash as possible.
Joining Alison Hammond, Frankie Dettori, Gareth Malone, Richard Coles, Tony Blackburn and Dr Maggie Aderin Pocock, Maura was the seventh expert to feature on this week’s show… and people are a little less than impressed with her.
Putting her knowledge of Irish geography to the test, the former Love Island star was asked a question that – should she have gotten right, would have helped contestant Barry win £10,000. No such luck though, and unfortunately, she gave the wrong answer.
Enraging Irish Twitter with the faux pas, people have been quick to comment.
Maura Higgins' expert category on The Wheel is just 'Ireland'. Love it.

Maura Higgins clearly didn't have one of those interactive whiteboard in her school where the teacher put up a map of Ireland and you got called up to it to drag the counties into place #TheWheel

According to Maura it was simply a case of the pressure getting to her in the heat of the moment.
Had the correct answer the first time but the pressure got to me….the end!! #thewheel
