Conversations with Friends, the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel of the same name has begun filming in Northern Ireland.
Almost a year to the day since TV viewers first met Connell and Marianne from Normal People, Sally Rooney takes another hugely successful novel to the small screen in the form of Conversations with Friends.
The Normal People Instagram account has shared a picture which confirms the new show started filming on Monday in Northern Ireland. Normal People director Lenny Abrahamson is on board again, alongside Leanne Welham, who has previously worked on The Trial of Christine Keeler and His Dark Materials.

It will star Cork actress Alison Oliver as a vulnerable 21-year-old college student navigating relationships, along with Sasha Lane, Joe Alwyn and Jemima Kirk. Filming will take place in Dublin, Belfast and other international locations.
If Conversations with Friends is half as successful as Normal People was then Sally Rooney is onto another winner. We look forward to seeing how it turns out.
