Met Éireann has issued a status yellow snow/ice warning for Wicklow today with ‘significant snow accumulations’ expected in the county.
The warning is valid from 10am until 7pm today and says that ‘falls of sleet and snow today with significant snow accumulations on hills and mountains.’ It follows on from yesterday’s nationwide advisory for cold weather that’s due to last until Sunday, with temperatures expected to drop to minus four degrees over the coming days.

The forecast for tonight says that ‘rain and any sleet or snow in the east will clear. Tonight will bring clear spells and scattered wintry showers, a few possibly thundery. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +2 degrees with frost and icy patches in many areas.’
