It is Monday, and it is November.

It is getting colder, and it is getting darker.

The best thing to do is to sit in and enjoy one of these, start your week off on the right foot!

Daddy’s Home – FilmFour – 7.05pm

Will Ferrell is the new stepdad to two young kids, but when their biological father comes home for a visit, and he happens to Mark Wahlberg, there is soon a battle between the two dads to see which one the kids love more.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers – Sky One – 8pm

It does suffer from Middle Movie Syndrome, because it doesn’t have a proper beginning or a proper ending, but that doesn’t stop the second act of the Rings Trilogy from being one of the best sequels of all time thanks to some properly incredible battle scenes.

The Children Act – BBC Two – 9pm

Emma Thompson and Stanley Tucci star in this emotional true-life drama about a lawyer who is representing a 17-year-old Jehovah’s Witness who is refusing on religious principle to undergo a potentially life-saving blood transfusion for leukaemia.

Unknown – TG4 – 9.30pm

Liam Nesson plays a doctor on a business trip in Germany who is involved in a car accident. When he recovers, he discovers another man is claiming to be him, his wife doesn’t recognise him, and there is no evidence of him ever having existed.

Pain & Gain – FilmFour – 11.05pm

Mark Wahlberg (again), The Rock, and Anthony Mackie star in this OTT crime thriller from the director Bad Boys, telling the true story of a trio of bodybuilders who decide to turn to a life of crime in order to pay for their lavish lifestyles.

Mad Max 2 – TCM – 11.40pm

The action-thriller sequel sees Mel Gibson return to deal out angry justice to the baddies of the Australian-set apocalypse, this time involving a villain who definitely has a love for all things leather and BDSM. Just FYI.
