Snail mail has seen a comeback this year with people using it as a more personal way of staying in touch with one another. Also a popular schoolwork exercise, one young student decided to send her homework to her favourite chef Neven Maguire.
Tasked with writing to their heroes, eight-year-old Holly chose Neven because she loves cooking “so much”. Asking the celebrity chef a number of very well-thought-out questions, it’s clear that Holly put a great deal of effort into the letter and there were several things that needed answering.
“When did you start cooking? When did you realise you wanted to be a chef? Were you influenced by any other chefs? What is your favourite meal? Is there any food you don’t like? Could you recommend a cookery book for young chefs like me? What do you think is the best piece of oof kitchen equipment? Did you like cooking as a child?”

Later admitting that she’s not the only one in the family who’s a fan, Holly finished her letter by saying:
“My mom is also a big fan of yours and has your rolling pin and she has your skillet and large frying pan on her Christmas list.”
Clearly impressed by Holly’s passion for cooking, it looks like she’ll get her autograph along with a copy of Neven’s book giving the young chef plenty of new recipes to try out over the coming weeks. No doubt she’s already perfected banana bread.
