The eternally busy Irish actor – or at least it seems that way given how much he’s managed to squeeze into the past few months – shows no signs of slowing down, with his next project set to see him star in a Hollywood movie no less.
Everyone wants a piece of Paul Mescal, from The Rolling Stones, to Derry Girls writer Lisa McGee to Hollywood actress Maggie Gyllenhaal who has cast the talented Kildare man in her upcoming movie – giving the actor his first feature film role.
Starring alongside Olivia Colman and Dakota Johnson, the movie marks Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut. Titled The Lost Daughter, the movie is based on a novel of the same name and tells the story of a college professor who becomes fascinated by a young mother and daughter while on holiday.
Confirming the news on social media, Paul retweeted an article from The Hollywood Reporter, writing that he is a ‘very excited boy’ and understandably so.

Between an Emmy award nomination for his breakout TV performance as Connell in Normal People, a live gig with Dermot Kennedy, a starring role in a music video and now this… you could say that 2020 has been Paul’s year.
