Met Éireann is expecting frost in Ireland tonight as July 2020 continues its temperamental behaviour.
While we enjoyed a decent amount of sun over the weekend and midweek temperatures are expected to be high, tonight is set to be ‘another unseasonably cold night,’ according to the weather experts.
In fact, some of the country could be waking up to frost tomorrow, as the forecast for tonight reads: ‘Mostly dry tonight with long clear spells, though isolated showers will still occur. Cloud will tend to increase overnight in the west and northwest and some mist and fog patches will also develop in places. Another unseasonably cold night, with minima of 4 to 9 degrees, possibly lower locally in the midlands with a risk of grass frost. Winds will be light southwesterly or variable in direction.’
Frost in the middle of July. When will 2020 stop trolling? As mentioned above, it’s not all bad with temperatures expected to reach the low 20s later in the week, even if there’s quite a lot of cloudy weather on the way as well. A full outlook for the days ahead can be read here.
