The bosses at Tesco Ireland have agreed once again to enter into talks with union officials, following the news that eight more stores have joined industrial action today.
According to The Sun, the Mandate Trade Union has welcomed the company’s willingness to discuss the current situation, in an effort to end the strike action.
The Mandate Trade Union currently represents more than 10,000 Tesco Ireland workers. Tesco have said they will are willing to enter talks regarding contracts for pre-1996 workers ‘without prejudice’.
Eight stores had originally been on strike in the counties of Dublin, Kerry, Meath, Offaly and Wicklow, with an added eight stores joining industrial action today.
The following Tesco stores are on indefinite strike:
